6" PONYTAIL PALM

6" PONYTAIL PALM

This beauty is not actually a true palm, but a succulent! Fun and easy to grow.

Native to eastern Mexico

Beaucarnea Recurvata aka Ponytail Palm, Elephant’s Foot Tree or Bottle Palm

Asparagaceae Family

Arrives in a 6" nursery pot if purchased on it's own. Visit our Pots Page to view and purchase pot options. Last photo pictured above is 6" Ponytail Palm in a Brooks pot.

*This plant is not considered toxic.

  • LIGHT

They prefer as much light as possible, so aim for bright light or direct sun for most of the day. Ponytail palms are forgiving enough that they will tolerate low-light conditions as long as they receive bright, indirect light for at least half of the year.

  • WATER

Since this is a succulent, you only need to water about every two to three weeks. In the winter time, reduce watering. Do not overwater, this is the most common cause of failure.

  • TIPS

    • Over time, ponytail palms produce litle pups that will be new plants!
    • Likes dry humidity.
    • Prefers 68-80º, normal room temps. Protect from drafts.
    • I'm actually a succulent (not a palm)!
  • TOXICITY

This plant is not considered to be toxic. However, it is best to keep all plants out of reach of pets and children.
