Is My Plant Weeping? Understanding Guttation in Houseplants
Guttation We could all use a little plant therapy but that's not quite what we're talking about here. If your plant appears like it's "crying," it's called guttation and it's completely normal! It's process where plants exude tiny droplets—mixtures of water, minerals, and sugars—from the tips or edges of their leaves. These come from hydathodes, special glands designed for this purpose. It’s not dew (which is condensation from the air), but fluid coming from inside the plant.
