LIGHT
Thrives in medium or bright indirect light but can tolerate low-light conditions.
WATER
Keep soil evenly moist. Ensure adequate drainage, roots don't like sitting in waterlogged soil. Water when the top half of soil is dry to the touch. Reduce watering in winter or low-light conditions. Loves a humid environment.
TIPS
- Wipe leaves regularly to remove dust.
- Prefers 60º-80º. Keep away from cold drafts.
- Prefers higher humidity. Using a humidifier is recommended.
- Can be sensitive to fluoride which can cause the plant to develop brown tips. Use distilled or reverse osmosis water instead of tap if you're noticing a problem.
- Goeppertia are nyctinastic plants. This means that they respond to the onset of darkness with a circadian rhythm. The movement follows the sun; at night the leaves move up, during the day the leaves move back down. If light is too strong, leaves can fade. If light is too dim, plants won’t open entirely during the day.
TOXICITY
Non-Toxic to pets and humans!
