HOYA CARNOSA 'KRIMSON QUEEN'

HOYA CARNOSA 'KRIMSON QUEEN'

Hoya Krimson Queens have beautiful white, pink and green variegated leaves. Often mistaken for its sibling, Hoya Krimson Princess. The Krimson Queen can be identified by her "crown" of white that borders the leaf edge, whereas the princess will have white in the center of the leaf and green on the outside. Under the right condiions, mature hoyas can develop beautiful clusters of fragrant star-shaped flowers. Beautiful as a trailing plant or grown up a trellis.

*This plant is not considered toxic. However, hoyas have sap that may trigger a reaction with folks that have latex allergies.

  • Light

Thrives in bright to medium indirect light. Not suited for intense, direct sun as leaves will burn.

  • Water

Water when the soil almost dries out. Hoyas are very sensitive to overwatering or water-logged soil. Err on the side of underwatering vs. overwatering.

  • Tips

    • Hoyas will produce clusters of star-shaped flowers. Don't cut the flower stem once the flowers are spent. Leave them as this is where the plant will flower from in the future! Do not attempt to move your hoya once in bloom, they are sensitive to change during this time and might drop the flowers.
    • New leaves will have lovely hues of pink but will fade to white as the leaves mature.
    • Fertilize once a month during the spring and summer.
  • Toxicity

This plant is not considered toxic.
