NEPENTHES 'LADY LUCK'
Pitcher plants are a genus of carnivorous plants known for their deep red pitchers. Carnivorous plants, like this pitcher plant here, lure in insects using bright colors, scents or sticky “hairs” on the plant. Pitcher plants attract insects to their pitchers which are filled with both a viscoelastic fluid that the plant produces on its own and water gathered from humidity, rain or through watering. Once insects become trapped, they become absorbed by glands in the bottom of the pitchers. Pitcher plants are known to catch more insects than any other carnivorous plant!
