PILEA PEPEROMIOIDES

Loved for it's round leaves and unusual starburst type growth, this plant is high on the list of many plant collectors. 

 

Native to Southern China

 

Botanical Name: Pilea Peperomioides

Common Name: Chinese Money Plant, UFO Plant or Friendship Plant

Urticaceae Family

 

Arrives in a 4" nursery pot. 

 

This plant is considered non-toxic to children and pets but can cause mild irritation if consumed in large doses.

  • LIGHT

    Thrives in bright to moderate indirect light. Do not allow to have harsh direct sun.

  • WATER

    Allow top third of soil to dry out between waterings. This plant does not like to sit in wet soil so err on the side of under-watering vs over-watering. Likes moderate humidity.

  • TIPS

    • Avoid drafts.
    • Leaves will droop when it needs to be watered. 
    • Browning on the leaf edges or spotting is usually a sign of overwatering or burn from direct sun.
  • TOXICITY

    Non-Toxic to pets and humans. Can have some mild irritation if consumed in large quantities. As a precatution, we suggest that all plants be kept out of reach of children and pets.
